20th Century Jonesborough High School Classmates Plan Big Reunion | WJHL
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — The classmates at Lamar High School plan to host one of their busiest reunions every next month.
Lamar High School existed between the years of 1912 and 1971 when it became the school which is now known as David Crockett High School.
“What we brought back from Lamar was just great,” said Lamar High School graduate Steve Harris. “We used it in life and a lot of us went to college. My era is when the Vietnam War was going on so right out of high school we went to Vietnam so we had a lot of those high school memories in our minds and we were just excited to come back and talk about.
Organizers of the event say they researched students as early as 1912 in an effort to organize the most well-attended meeting they have ever held.
The meeting will be held at Cherokee Creek Farms, 359 Taylor Bridge Road, Jonesborough on April 30 from 4 p.m. Participants will be able to enjoy a barbecue meal from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
The cost of participation will be $35 per person or $65 per couple. Reservations and payments must be made by April 25. Booking information can be found on Facebook or by contacting one of the following:
