Blackpool’s latest transfer as loan link for Leeds United starlet emerges with January window open

The January transfer window is now open and Blackpool will be keen to strengthen their squad in the coming weeks.

Manager Neil Critchley will look to try to add new faces to key positions ahead of the second half of the season with a particular focus on the central midfielder.

There are several players on the team who are not watching at the moment Sailors which could see a strong rotation of players exiting this window in order to free up space for new additions.

Here are the players Blackpool has been linked with so far.

Stuart McKinstry

The Leeds United midfielder made his Premier League debut this season and has been linked with many clubs.

Marcelo Bielsa has clearly been impressed with the 19-year-old, who has moved to Elland Road from Motherwell, and is said to be wondering if he should allow him to go on loan this month.

Leeds have run out of bodies in recent weeks, but that hasn’t stopped Blackpool, along with Championship rivals Stoke City and Coventry City, approaching the Yorkshire side over a loan transfer, according to Football Insider.

Jeando Fuchs

The Dundee United central midfielder has been the main name linked with the club in recent weeks.

A combative ball winner, Fuchs has been United’s star man for the past two seasons following his arrival from Alaves and Blackpool are among the many clubs reportedly interested in his services.

His name appeared in the summer window as the Seasiders searched for a central midfielder late in the day and the player himself has confirmed that the club had been in contact.

“There have been contacts with Blackpool, Peterborough and Wigan. Stuttgart has taken information since this summer. There has been contact with Celtic and Rangers too, but nothing more. A Premier League club too. ‘England would be nice,’ Fuchs said. .

A central midfielder is the number one priority for Blackpool in January and Fuchs would do the trick.

However, it would be wise to take his claims with a pinch of salt given the number of clubs he has mentioned in this regard.

Ruben Rodrigues

The next man on the linked list is Portugal striker Ruben Rodrigues.

Rodrigues is currently plying his trade with Notts County in the National League and has scored eight goals in 18 games this campaign, following his double total from last season.

He has been linked with figures like Lincoln City and Rotherham United, while reports suggest The Blackburn Rovers are also keeping an eye on the attacker alongside Blackpool.

His name has kept popping up when it comes to Seasiders activity, both in the Summer Window and now in the January Window.

However, Live Lancs understands that no contact has been made by the club regarding Rodrigues at this point.

Cameron Brannagan

Brannagan has long been linked with the Tangerines, especially when their attempts to capture the Oxford United player on deadline day fell apart.

Neil Critchley will know him well from his youth at Liverpool as well as the various battles Blackpool fought with the U last season, meeting in the playoff semi-finals where Critchley’s side came out on top.

The ex-Liverpool youngster is a well-rounded midfielder with a good passing range and energy that matches the high-intensity style the Tangerines seek to play.

While no new news is apparent regarding Brannagan, one would think he will be on the radar given the efforts the club have put in this summer to try to get him in.
