Carrie, 34, in a lime green jumper over a floral dress, was seen cradling her three-month-old baby girl Romy as she and Boris, 57, casually dressed in pants and a blue jacket, walked along a gravel path.

The family stayed at the rustic luxury hotel The Pig, where rooms cost upwards of £215 a night.

A viewer said: “The setting is picturesque. Boris and Carrie looked very relaxed and appeared to be enjoying the sun and walking around the hotel grounds.

“Carrie always watched the doting mum as she carried her baby girl near the hotel.

“They were staying away from the main building and had security with them, but kept very low key.

“I’m sure Boris needed a break after dealing with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the cost of living crisis in Britain.”

The hotel is located at the Grade II listed Madehurst Lodge, in the heart of Britain’s wine country, not far from Arundel Hill.

The Pig has authentic rustic oak and brass charm with bedrooms inside the main hotel as well as in converted outbuildings.

He also has a vegetable garden and prides himself on using local produce in his restaurant.

It is unclear whether Boris and Carrie brought their two-year-old son, Wilfred, during the short break or whether he stayed with a nanny.

A Downing Street source said the trip was to celebrate Mother’s Day, adding the Prime Minister would be back at work on Monday.
