Despite weather delays, fans are ready for the sold-out River City Smoke Show
JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – Fans hoping to make it to Metro Park for the sold-out River City Smoke Show were urged to pump the brakes on Saturday afternoon when organizers said lightning and treacherous weather in the area forced a delay indefinite to the festivities.
They later posted an update stating that the doors would open at 5 p.m. They were supposed to open at 3 p.m.
Fans have been asked not to come to Metropolitan Park early for their safety.
Officials said updates will be sent through the River City Smoke Show website (https://www.rivercitysmokeshow.com/) and social handles on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
“It’s okay. We went to Walmart, bought ponchos, so we’re good to go,” said Amber Wagoner, who is from Alabama.
River City Smoke Show attendees include Sugarfire Smokehouse, The Bearded Pig, the Jacksonville Firefighters Union, and Southern Soul Barbeque from nearby St. Simons Island.
The concert lineup includes Jon Pardi, John Michael Montgomery, Molly Hatchet, Larry Fleet and Dean Dillon.
The event will end at 10:30 p.m. with a fireworks display.
