Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden shares Yorkshire pudding secret with Chris Kamara
Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden thinks he’s good at cooking a Sunday roast.
Matthew, who is married to Emmerdale co-stars Charley Webb, says, “I make a nasty Sunday roast, I love to cook and the Sunday roast is like my highlight.”
He tells Kammy: “We always have a crowd around Sunday and my secret to a good Yorkshire pudding is if the recipe says put three eggs, double it. Always put more eggs than the recipe says. and you get fantastic Yorkshire pudding. “
Matthew, who lives with Charley and their three sons, said: “I was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire. I think the best thing about growing up in Yorkshire is how friendly everyone is.

“I moved to London when I was 22. The difference… I mean, I love London, I spent about 5 years in London and love the place. But you notice the difference with the friendliness of the people in Yorkshire where everyone says hello to each other, everyone always strikes up a conversation while in London we tend to take the tube and people stick their heads in their papers and they don’t not really speak.
“But yeah I think the friendliness of Yorkshire people is a huge thing. I moved from West Yorkshire to North Yorkshire so I’m in Harrogate now. We’ve been here for a little over two years.”
Kammy, who grew up in Middlesbrough, responds: “Uh, classy.”
