Residents of Leeds could win a £2,000 holiday for spotting one of 20 special gold signs scattered outside homes in the city.

Those who spot the boards can enter the contest by taking a picture of the board and posting it to their Facebook or Instagram feed.

The company, which has pledged to plant more than 450 trees this year, also plants a tree every time someone enters the competition.

Luke Gidney, Managing Director of HOP, said: “We are very pleased to launch this competition with 20 of our special golden boards which now sit outside various HOP properties across Leeds, waiting to be discovered and photographed. .

“We will also be posting clues to their locations on Facebook and Instagram over the coming weeks, so we advise anyone interested in playing to follow our social media pages. Entrants can enter the contest whenever they find a board, so whoever finds them all will have 20 chances to win.

“Joining forces with GreenTheUK is also a great opportunity for contest entrants, home sellers, landlords and ourselves to support our local community with a wonderful green initiative. We estimate we can plant over 450 trees over the next three months, which will be a brilliant achievement and a great way to give back to our local environment and its wildlife.

As part of the green initiative, HOP has partnered with GreenTheUK, which links businesses to local wildlife projects and works in partnership with the Royal Forestry Society (RFS) planting thousands of climate-resilient trees across the UK.

Ed Caldecott, CEO of GreenTheUK, said: “We partner with all types of ambitious, forward-thinking UK businesses to support local wildlife projects with measurable impact. We are really looking forward to working with HOP and planting hundreds of trees in the area.

Entrants must also hashtag #HOPGoldenBoard and tag any of HOP’s pages on Facebook or Instagram.

Entrants can enter any time they find a different golden board, and the contest will run until May 20, 2022 at midnight. A winner will be drawn shortly after this date.
