Charles “Knute” and Bernadette Mellon are preparing to open the Blondes & Brewnettes brewery, the first liquor establishment in West Grove since the town went dry in 1940, according to a report from Breweries in PA.
The brewery will be located at 122 Rose Hill Avenue and is expected to officially open by the end of the summer.
“We need to get the equipment on site and set it up, and we’ll have a fair amount of construction to finish the bar and a few other items,” Charles said.
The husband and wife, who started brewing beer in November 2020 at their restaurant, Twelves Grill & Café, plan to make a wide variety of styles including dark and lager ales, Belgian styles, IPAs and darker beers.
Their new 4,000 square foot space will feature a 20 foot bar and 10 taps carrying beer from the brewery.
“Total seating inside will be around 100, with some seating in the back by our garage door,” Charles said. “Outside we will have tables and a beer garden for events in good weather.”
Food – including barbecue, salads and paninis, among others – will also be served.
