Gaston County has an official barbecue trail. Who made the list.

The next time your partner or friend answers the question “where do you want to eat” with the answer “I don’t know”, here is an answer: “Let’s try the local guy”.

And to help you find that local restaurant where the locals eat, take a look at Gaston County’s official ‘Cue Trail’. Didn’t you know Gaston County has an official BBQ trail? It does, according to Go Gaston, the county’s tourism development agency.

  • Black’s Barbecue, 2902 S. York Road, Gastonia, open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; closed sunday and monday
  • RO’s Bar-B-Cue, 1318 Gaston Ave., Gastonia, open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday
  • Kyle Fletcher’s Barbeque, 4507 Wilkinson Blvd., Gastonia (Lowell), open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday, Monday, and holidays
  • Hillybilly’s BBQ, 305 S. Main St., Lowell, open Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Ole Carolina Barbecue, 1011 Union Road, Gastonia, open Tuesday-Saturday 11am-8pm, Sunday 11am-3pm, closed Monday
