Jiggy with Piggy BBQ contest winners announced

KANNAPOLIS, NC (WBTV) — Kansas City BBQ judges spent Saturday very carefully judging teams from six states who competed in the chicken, ribs, pork and brisket categories at the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival in Kannapolis. .

Judges, from multiple states, chose the winners based on taste, appearance and tenderness.

CBF Que of Marshville, NC was named Grand Champion of the event and took home $1,250. The reserve champion is Chunky BBQ from Harrisburg, PA, and they won $1,000.

6th – Smokin Skullies from Goldsboro, North Carolina

7th – Fletcher’s Brothers-in-Law BBQ Team, NC

8th – Good Googly Goo BBQ from Mitchellville, MD

9th – Lady of Q from Ramona, CA

10th – Pappy & Roley of Asheville, North Carolina

First place chicken – Redneck Scientific of Angier, North Carolina

First place pork ribs – Pappy & Roley of Asheville, North Carolina

First place pork – Bad Rooster from Lavonia, GA

First place Chest – Smokin Skullies from Goldsboro, North Carolina

During the events, hundreds of people participated in the People’s Choice Pork Contest. The public could buy tickets and taste the best pork in the United States. Proceeds from ticket sales are distributed to the YMCA of Kannapolis and Rotary of Kannapolis who organize the events as part of the festival.
