According to ESPN Brazil, Leeds recently put FC Basel forward Arthur Cabral on their radar, with Barcelona also interested.

What is the story?

Well, the 23-year-old is wanted by Leeds, but the Whites face competition from AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen, as well as Xavi’s Barcelona.

The Brazilian striker has been in exquisite form for FC Basel this season, scoring 23 goals in 24 games while offering eight assist.

It’s a simply exceptional comeback, and you can see why so many clubs are keen to sign Cabral.

ESPN Brazil I think FC Basel want € 20million (£ 16.8million) for their No.10, who was called up to the national team by Brazil boss Tite earlier this year.

It seems a fair price, given his heroic goals so far this quarter.

Leeds should do everything they can for Arthur Cabral

One thing Marcelo Bielsa desperately needs at Leeds is another striker.

Patrick Bamford’s injury has hit Leeds hard this season, and although he has improved, Rodrigo is still not reaching the levels of the England international.

As a result, Leeds have only scored 11 goals in 11 games this season and are currently ranked 15th in the Premier League.

If the situation remains as it is, Victor Orta will have to find a new leader in January to help Rodrigo and Bamford.

Whether it’s Cabral or an alternative if Leeds lose to South America, something needs to be done in the transfer market.

Otherwise, who knows what could happen – relegation is certainly not out of the equation for Leeds de Bielsa, as it stands.
