Leeds United: Radrizzani and Marsch in daily transfer talks

Jesse Marsch is in daily contact with Andrea Radrizzani as Leeds United enter the final week of the transfer window, as Phil Hay has shared.

The Athletic reporter reported that the budget is set before Thursday’s deadline [1 September]with a striker and possibly a left-back on the cards at Elland Road.

Marsch confirmed that the club are trying to be aggressive in their transfer efforts, although these developments fail to give fans confidence.

writing on his own Twitter account, Hay shared what Marsch told him about the behind-the-scenes talks that are going on right now.

“I want to be fair to Andrea,” he wrote.

“We operate within the framework of a budget that is defined. We try to be aggressive and we talk daily to make sure we’re on the same page. Whatever decisions are made, they must have the exact strategy in mind.

“We did that very well.”

Daily conversations.

There has to be some progress in these talks, otherwise it would render them useless.

Radrizzani will be at Thorp Arch and Elland Road next week, and he will include Victor Orta in those talks as this trio tries to hammer out deals.

It’s something that’s wildly different from the days of Marcelo Bielsa, where he kind of left the talks to those in the boardroom and then just gave the go-ahead to finish.

Now Marsch is in the thick of it identifying targets alongside Orta and his team which has seen almost 10 new faces arrive at Elland Road.

Last season we really only saw Junior Firpo arrive, and the team needed so much more, leaving us in a relegation battle, a battle we only just survived.

It can be easy to slow down given our brilliant start to the season, but we can’t take anything for granted at this stage and new faces would be welcome.

In other Leeds United news, Los Blancos now want to sign the striker with a rival set to kick off a major £30m+ transfer battle.
