Leeds United scouts eye Murray Campbell this week

Leeds United scouts were spotted watching St Mirren defender Murray Campbell on Tuesday night, according to Glasgow World.

The 15-year-old defender traveled with the Scottish squad’s senior squad in pre-season and last played against Northampton.

Manager Stephen Robinson has shared that no offers have yet been received for the young wonderkid, who is clearly attracting attention with his progress.

Campbell is reportedly valued at £400,000 by St Mirren as Premier League clubs begin to line up.

Leicester City, Southampton and Brighton joined Los Blancos in eyeing the young defender on Tuesday, with a race potentially open for the new signing.

The Scotland Under-16 international is yet to sign his first professional contract at St Mirren, and Robinson has said he will not press for a move.

Coming years.

Victor Orta could now prepare to plan moves for the academy now.

The team travel to Australia this weekend but the Spaniard will remain with just one new striker needed for the first team with six signings already.

Now, once that’s done, the focus will shift to the academy and bring in the next line of new stars.

Campbell is clearly catching the eye of a lot of people breaking into the first team at such a young age, and a move to Elland Road could now be on the cards because of it.

£400,000 wouldn’t even be noticed in Leeds’ accounts if they were to pass, but could be pushed closer to the seven-figure mark if other clubs get involved.

No one would be exactly blown away by this signing if it were announced, but give it maybe another five years and Campbell could be the name on everyone’s lips.

In other Leeds United news, Los Blancos now want to sign the striker with a rival ready to kick off a major £30m+ transfer battle.
