Leeds United set for serious implications from Brentford v Norwich

Paul Merson has insisted Leeds United and Everton will be ‘desperate’ for Premier League points from this weekend.

The Whites take on Leicester early in the kick-off, with the Toffees traveling to Spurs throughout the weekend.

Merson singled out the match between Brentford and Norwich which is expected to have “serious implications” in the Premier League.

Writing in his Sportskeeda column On Thursday (March 03), Merson previewed the week ahead of his predictions.

“Brentford’s trip to Carrow Road could have serious implications in terms of the relegation battle, with Norwich City running out of time to secure their Premier League status,” he said.

“The likes of Everton and Leeds United are also desperate for points and are currently at risk of dropping out in the Championship.”

Merson is right, we are desperate for points.

On top of that, however, it comes to the stage of the season where you start celebrating that other teams are slipping.

Burnley have picked up the pace in recent weeks, and watching them crash against Leicester has been a huge sigh of relief.

That said, we now have to do our part, and that means doing what Burnley couldn’t do against the Foxes this weekend.

Brentford are the next team above us that could be dragged into this, and their game against Norwich after a potential three-pointer to us would push them below us.

It’s time to put your foot on the pedal, Jesse Marsch will know it.
