Midfielder ‘very enthusiastic’ about move to Newcastle
One consequence of relegation to the Championship – should Leeds suffer that fate on Sunday – is that the club will almost certainly lose Kalvin Phillips. The midfielder has made it known he wants to stay at the club, should they retain their Premier League status for another season, but as an established starter in England his career has progressed to a stage where a return season at the second level would be untenable.
One of the teams who have been linked with his signing is Newcastle United and journalist Sean Casey suggested Phillips would be “very keen” to join the project at St James Park. Evans told Loaded HQ’s Youtube channel, as reported This is Futbol :
“If Leeds are relegated I think Kalvin Phillips is very keen to move to Newcastle, out of all the options he has I think he would probably choose Newcastle and I think it’s just a deal we would do if Leeds were relegated – that’s where he comes into the equation, if they are relegated.”

Helder Costa ‘will definitely leave’ Valencia
One player Leeds were hoping to receive commission for this summer was Helder Costa. The winger has been on loan at Valencia since September but is struggling to stay consistent. As such, Jose Bordalas hasn’t been convinced the club should trigger the option to make the deal permanent.
Reports from Spain declare that Costa will “definitely leave” and return to Leeds. Therefore, they will have to find a new buyer for the winger unless the Angola international gets another chance in the Leeds first team.
