Met Office weather forecast for Leeds this weekend after the city was hit by snow

Snow wreaked havoc across much of Yorkshire today after an overnight fall that resulted in several road and school closures.

A number of roads in the area were either closed, impassable or partially blocked due to inclement weather.

Meanwhile, several schools suffered disruptions, with a handful being closed for the day and many others having to delay the opening.

With a yellow weather warning for ice in place across most of Yorkshire, including Leeds, until midnight, it is possible for difficult conditions to continue over the weekend.

Fortunately, the Leeds forecast means the city appears to mean the city will miss out on disruptions elsewhere.

According to the Met Office, Leeds will not receive snow for the remainder of the week.

But a cold and wet weekend is expected.

While Saturday appears to be dry until 7 a.m., there will be rain in parts until noon, with further showers in the evening.

Temperatures will peak at 7 ° C, but will be 0 ° C for most of the day.

Sunday is expected to be warmer, and it should also be a dry day, with no rain forecast.
