Phil Hay shares Patrick Bamford injury update after Leeds United striker limps off Norwich

Patrick Bamford did not suffer any sort of injury as Leeds United beat Norwich 2-1 at Elland Road on Sunday.

According to The Athletic journalist Phil Hay on his personal Twitter account after the game on March 13, the 28-year-old striker was still scheduled to play 45 minutes after his half-time exit.

Bamford was spotted hobbling towards the tunnel at the break but it is understood he is fine and “should be fine” to feature against Wolves at Molineux on Friday night.

And while there is positive news on Bamford, there is slight concern over Rodrigo as he left with ‘tight quad muscle’.

huge day

Leeds got three points, Everton lost, Bamford returned from injury and Joe Gelhardt made himself an Elland Road hero.

What a day it has been to be a Leeds United supporter.

Leeds eased their relegation concerns considerably by winning 2-1 against Norwich.

It was a very good game but Jesse Marsch’s men should have put him to bed much sooner than they did.

Kenny McLean’s 91st-minute goal nearly put a stop to things before Gelhardt came off the bench to score in the fourth minute of stoppage time at the end of the game.

But it was Leeds day and now four points separate us at 16th and 18th-placed Watford, who also won on Sunday by beating Southampton 2-1 at St Mary’s.

Leeds really needed this win and we also needed Bamford to come out of the game unscathed because you just have to look at how much our attack improved with him in the first 45 minutes.

Bamford aren’t quite up to speed just yet, but once they are, the Premier League should become a much easier league to score.
