Possible tornado causes severe damage to Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, TX – A possible tornado has struck overnight in the Montgomery area, causing severe damage to businesses and homes in the area.

As another line of severe thunderstorms swept through Montgomery County on Saturday evening, a possible tornado was reported moving through the Montgomery area, causing damage to a number of commercial and residential properties in its path.

Ransom’s Steakhouse suffered complete loss of its roof during the storm, also causing approximately 2 inches of water damage. Slap Yo Mama Barbeque also had parts of her roof removed and a broken front window.

Homes that were under construction and at the frame stage were completely razed in subdivisions such as Estates of Lake Creek and Buffalo Springs.

A city-wide power outage also occurred late Saturday night before the reported tornado, however, Entergy crews restored power on Sunday morning. If you are still without power, please contact Entergy at 1-800-968-8243 and report it as soon as possible.
