St. Augustine’s Annual Rhythm & Ribs Festival Celebrates 25th Year This Weekend – 104.5 WOKV

St. Augustine – Featuring country music stars, the three-day outdoor music and barbecue festival will feature headliners and legends between a fierce barbecue competition and family-friendly activities.

Music superstars will include The Carpetbaggers, The Luke Langford Band, Walker Montgomery, Jordan Fletcher, One Good Ring, Davis and the Loose Canons, DJ El, Darrel Rae, Jordan Rae, Muscadine Bloodline and the Saturday night show-topper, country music legend Travis Tritt.

According to its founder and host, the Sunrise Rotary Club of St. Augustine, the three-day festival is an effort of nearly 350 volunteers working over 2,000 hours in addition to the hours spent planning the annual event.

“Since 1995, Rhythm & Ribs has been a charitable event that has a positive impact on the entire community,” said Andrew Morgan, past president of the Club. “What started out as a small barbecue festival – its original name – has grown to attract music legends and barbecue enthusiasts from across the South East.”

Proceeds from the event will be split between a global charity and over 100 local charities in St. Johns County. Morgan said the Club has donated more than $ 1 million over the 25-year history of the festival.

“This event donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities,” he said. “The money stays here and helps here.”

Morgan also described the food as something no one should miss.

“You can’t believe how big barbecue vendors are,” he continued. “There are five that travel the country competing and serving gigantic vehicles at festivals like ours. We can debate, what better, food or music?

“The Rhythm & Ribs Festival is a big comeback to St. Augustine after COVID,” said Melissa Wissel, City of St. Augustine communications director. “We’re excited to bring the activity back to downtown and the fun back to Francis Field after being festival-free for almost a year and a half.”

Francis Field is located behind the Visitor Information Center and parking lot on West Castillo Drive in the heart of historic downtown St. Augustine.
