(ORANGE COUNTY, CA) – So come on, it’s Tuesday: a truly special barrel-aged experience from the Bruery Hits Now cast!
An eternal favorite of The Bruery, So Happens It’s Tuesday, is heading across the country to a shelf near you in September. This Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is a classic expression of The Bruery’s style: tall, bold, and bursting with cask character that is truly something to celebrate.
Namesake aside, this bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout deserves to be served every day of the week. Both elegant and complex, it illustrates more than 12 years of experience in the technique of aging in barrels. Notes of dark chocolate and vanilla are complemented by notes of freshly picked cherries, dried figs, molasses and of course bourbon. So Happens It’s Tuesday is dark, roasted and ends smoothly with a lingering foam.
At 15.3% ABV, So Happens It’s Tuesday is the (slightly) inferior ABV companion of Black Tuesday, one of The Bruery’s best-known small-batch Imperial stouts that is bourbon aged for over a year and made public for only one day each October. So Happens It’s Tuesday is equally dark and delicious, but with a more accessible ABV and in a 16 oz can.
Jeremy Grinkey, production manager at The Bruery, is particularly excited about this year’s version. “So Happens is one of those beers I remember the most from the Bruery before working here. It’s a monster beer, but subtle and complex. This year’s batch was around 150 hand-selected individual barrels for blending, and the character of the barrel really comes together to make a final beer that’s more than the sum of its parts. So Happens It’s Tuesday is the perfect beer to pair with bold and full-bodied dishes. Sarah Lynch, sales manager for The Bruery in California, plans to fire up her barbecue and braise a brisket with the beer.
The Bruery barrel program is one of the best in the country. Home to over 3,000 casks, The Bruery has spent over 12 years perfecting the craft of cask-aged beers. No detail is left unexplored; between the size, type and style of the barrel, the impact of wood on beer is complex and complex. The Bruers taste the barrels daily, carefully monitoring the specific characteristics and development. This is just the start: the mix really is where the magic happens. The final beer that results from these efforts is truly a canvas, with the unique casks making up the color palette. Quality is of the utmost importance at The Bruery – no beer leaves The Bruery until it is 100% ready.
The Bruery & Offshoot Beer Co. has had some big distribution wins this year: recently opening 6 new states for a total footprint of 29 as well as Washington DC For the newer states they’ve partnered up with Craig Stein Beverage in Idaho, Craftroads Beverage in Indiana, Low Country Craft Distribution in South Carolina, Lipman Brothers in Tennessee and Speakeasy Distribution in Kansas and Missouri. “We are incredibly fortunate to partner with such passionate and talented teams in these new states.
