Ticket sales continue for the Umpqua Fishery Enhancement Derby Banquet.

It will take place on June 10 and is sponsored by Douglas Timber Operators and the Umpqua Fishery Enhancement Committee.

Historically, the event is part of the annual four-day derby. All other events were held in February, but the banquet was moved due to expected low attendance at that time.

The evening will include:

*At 5:00 p.m. BBQ Oyster Bar sponsored by the Umpqua Fishermen’s Association as well as Silent Auction and Social

*At 6:00 p.m. dinner will be served

*At 7:00 p.m. the program and the live auction will take place

Items up for auction this year will include a Willie boat, fishing trips in Alaska and other places, day trips and many other fundraising items that will all go to projects benefiting the watershed. ‘Umpqua.

The Derby has contributed more than $1.8 million to improved fishing, watershed restoration and outdoor education projects over the event’s 28 years. All of this money stays in Douglas County and provides matching funds for multiple projects each year, resulting in an investment that benefits everyone who benefits from the county’s valuable natural resources.
